Times are changing and Barack Obama is that change. A well deserved change that took too long to happen but hey…what can you say? Barack Obama has so far won the Nevada Caucus and the South Carolina primaries. He is doing much better then i thought he would do, being a black man running for presidency. And people are  wasting their time talking about race is not an  issue…be serious race is still an issue in the minds of some/many people. Personally i don’t like Barack Obama because he is black . I like him because he stands for most of the things i stand for, he is sincere in his speaking and he seems like he can do a good job running the country regardless of his so called lack of experience. Hillary on the other hand i feel that she at times appears to be cut throat vicious. She seems like she will do anything to win and doesn’t care how she wins. Also i wish that some people would stop saying I’m voting for Hillary because of Bill. I have heard grown people say this, and it makes me wonder why they would say such a idiotic thing. If you are voting for someone because of their husband then you are wasting your time. Bill’s success in the white house has nothing to do with Hillary’s, and it shouldn’t even be compared.
Barack has a fresh, new approach to things and i think people should recognize that. Also the media try little things such as having breaking news headlines such as Baracks Middle name is Hussein! Or, saying things like he went to a school in the middle east…a school that supposedly taught terrorism, or saying idiotic things like, is he black enough? What kind of questions are these. Just because  he didn’t get the black vote right away means that he isn’t black enough…? That makes no sense. I guess they want him to be an African American stereotype ( which i wont name a steorotype because that just perpetuates them even more). Though some people cant get past the color of his skin alot of people have, and i will give them credit. Recently Caroline Kennedy decided to endorse Barack and also others have endorsed him clearly not because of his race but because of what he stands for. So props to them!

Lastly i just want to say that because of his race i also fear for his life. yes in the year 2008 i fear for his life because if he does become president he will need l an army of security surrounding him and his family at all times. The KKK is definitely on the rise and i am scared because of that. They are so ignorant but what can you say to ignorant people who claim to be Christians…….anyway…I fear for his life because also the “imperial wizard of the Klan”…..(what a joke)……. claims that if he does become president something will be done about that. Hinting that he will most likely be killed. So yeah that is why having a black president will be a well deserved change but is America ready…i don’t know….i know i am.

Are you ready?

Ms. America is Racist! January 27, 2008

I was watching Miss America 2008 and was appalled, literally appalled. I was angered to see there were only 4 black women competing out of 52 people! Not to mention no hispanic, asian, native american. Majority caucasion. This is a serious issue. Are they stating that being beautiful in american means you have to be a size 2 and have blonde hair and blue eyes….well it seems like it. So then for the semi finalist they put 2 black women in, but guess what after the swimsuit contest they BOTH got eliminated. They get eliminated even after doing extremely well…. So guess what??? The only remaining people were white. I think there is definetly something wrong with that picture. Why no hispanics, no black, no asians. There are many races in the united states. What ever happened to the melting pot, of cultures that was suppose to represent all of the various religions and cultures that america represents. But yet when we have a show called miss american, a girl that is suppose to represent america ends up 95% of the time being white. This seems very racist to me. Also it makes me sick to my stomach when also every person on that stage is a size 0-4. With the exception of Miss Utah who was the only girl to sport a full piece bathing suit ( her body would not be considered fat, but healthy looking). Guess what. Miss Utah was eliminated. So I guess Miss America also doesnt want anyone over a size 4 to win either. It really makes me sick that in the year 2008 little asian, black, hispanic girls cant watch miss america and see anyone who looks like them. Or at least someone win that looks like them. It seems very unfair. But hey what do you expect when a contest has been out for over 20 years. A contest that has been out when there were no black people at all, it wasnt even heard of to have a black person in a miss america contest. so i guess i should be happy to see 4 people. I think not. We as americans need to get over the color of our skin and realize it is what is underneath that means the most…especially in the year 2008

The Cookie Diet..another fad? January 25, 2008

So once again i am kinda late with the whole fad thing but this particular diet caught my eye. It made me think….cookie…diet… all in the same sentence you must be kidding me. But hey based on some reviews i read about this diet, people have actually loss some weight. Now have they kept it off??? i guess we’ll never know. The  2 brands that i notice are the Dr Siegals Cookie Diet and the Hollywood Cookie Diet. Dr. Siegals diet claims that if you eat 6 cookies replacing certain meals…Im guessing breakfast and lunch….then you will lose weight. On the Hollywood Cookie Diet you are supposed to eat 4 cookies a day. 1 in the morning and 3 for lunch and then have a 500 calorie dinner. Well the 4 cookies they require you to eat are 600 calories and the 500 calorie seems like a very low calorie diet. Dangerously low infact. They also want you to exercise and eat other things besides the cookies that are “healthy”. This kinda contradicts itself because the cookies i have been told are appetite suppressing, and if you eat three…i mean you might not ever eat a balanced meal. Plus If you are exercising, that is really not leaving alot of calories left by the end of the day. Reviews have shown that while on these diets you can experience dizziness, fatigue, and basically stuff that you feel when you are depriving yourself of food…I am still kinda leery about this diet but i am very curious. I want to try it but then again i dont….Well i guess ima see. Plus me being 16 i could care less if i kept the weight off permanently,if i gani it back well back to my old hustle. I lost 8 lbs last year the old fashion way. Simple healthy diet and exercise but i am telling you its hard. It gets  boring at times too. And me not being old enough to go to the gym myself…forget about it. Plus i just started using the treadmill but it makes me dizzy. Ya well enough about me and more about the cookie diet. Ima look into it and maybe try it for a month.

A Plus Sized Nightmare! January 22, 2008

I am not plus sized but sometime when i go shopping i am curious about what plus sized clothing are available. My mother is plus sized and sometimes when i shop with her i am very disappointed in the clothing or shall i say the lack of clothing that is available to her. First off the majority of department stores like JCpenney should not even call it a plus sized section they should call it a non existent section. The JCpenney that i went to had a small  section not even worth calling a section, more like a corner. Then with what little amounts of clothing that they had,  i had to say at least 2/10 outfits were very un-trendy. Does being plus sized mean that you don’t want to be trendy. I think not! We all have to wear clothes or else we will get sent to jail, but with clothes comes style. Which i have to say that when it comes to plus sized clothing there are none. There is another place called The Avenue. This store i will give props because they do have more trendy things and they have a wide range of selection. Only thing is that they only cater to the older crowd. If there is a a teen who is overweight and wants to flaunt what she has , there is no way she can do that using the clothes from Avenue. This disappoints me. I feel that knowing there are more overweight people in the united states, why have such a lack of clothing catering to the majority. Why is it that even when i walk into the juniors section of a store it is very hard to find a size 9 or 7, or a size large or extra large. Why do we have a rack full of size 1 and 2 when hardly anyone goes to that rack. Maybe that is why there is a whole rack. because there is no one buying it!  I was thinking about going into the fashion business even going to FIT college in NY but then i realized that i would never be able to get my point out about having a fair and equal amount of trendy clothing, available for all sizes and  ages. This really makes me want to do something but, what to do. A 16 year old who is passionate about something that has really nothing to do with her. Is that odd? Oh well maybe one day i can do something.

When you try to tell people something there are always 3 types of people. The people who agree. The people who disagree and the people who disagree and do something about it. I am the 3rd person and when i disagree with someone i actually look it up and proove my point. When i had an argument about diet soda( i know what a stupid argument) i actually looked up info on the health benefits of diet soda.  Diet Soda is healthy in my opinion. It has no calories, it either has very low sodium or none at all. And if your lucky it wont have caffiene. Though all of these posistive things about diet soda are well and good people always have their different takes about it. Like i read about someone who said diet soda was bad because it makes you feel like you can splurge. I guess that means if you go to Mcdonalds and you say can i have a Large fries a double quarter pounder a snack wrap and a DIET SODA. Then you are splurging. Which i agree to some extent. I am guilty of doing that. But my defense is that if i have a 1,300 calorie meal why add 400 more calories with regular soda! Why not just have 0 calories so you can keep that 1,300 calorie meal! Thats not a healthy way of thinking about it but hey, as long as it taste good and it keeps me from gaining weight im good. I really would like to know what makes diet soda taste sweet. I heard some brands have splenda, which in my opinion in certain sodas has a bitter after taste but whatever. Some brands are using different types if sugar substitutes to make there soda taste sweet. For instance i am looking at right now a bottle of Fanta Zero. Its a new Diet version of the sugary fanta soda drink. On the bottle it claims to be sugar free, calorie free ( although there is a seperare area that says low calorie….okay they need to make up there minds) and lastly it says caffeine free. It doesnt mention splenda so they must be using a different type of sugar sub.

Well in any case i think diet soda is a much healthier choice over regular soda/or juice/ or punch/ or ades. But of course the master of all healthy drinks alwasy comes down to the o naturale water.

Shame on You Kelly Tilghman! January 19, 2008

Okay so last friday a woman named Kelly Tilghman was on the golf channel with another guy. Just having nonsense chitter chatter. So they start talking about tiger woods. And the guy is like oh ya they should gang up on him, and she’s yah like lynch him in the back alley. what….what… did she just say that? Now this is the first time i heard this story so im kind of late. But its still the fact that in the year 2008 someone can say that in a joking manner. Like oh ya ( chuckles) lynch him in a back alley. Who says that. Then people all over the media and the internet asking. Is She a Racist. Well if she wasnt a racist she would have never made those remarks. I mean of all the things she could have said, that’s what came out. It’s hard to believe ,i know that racism exist in golf, a majority white game!( sarcasm incase you didnt catch it) but justice was done. Some people said she should have been fired, I dont agree. she was suspended for 2 weeks. Personally i think a month would have done it but 2 weeks is fine. She should know that joking about a serious thing such as lynching is not acceptable. Look at Don Imus and him talking about the Rutgers Basketball team. Look where that got him, i mean although he got his job back , he still was “punished”. Also like Micheal Richards, the racist guy from seinfeld at the Laugh Factory shouting out racist remarks. Where did that get him, well no where because he’s a nobody anyway but hey his name is forever soiled. In a time where nooses are popping up every where as a “joke” the last thing out of anyone’s mouth should be lynching.

Well im glad i got that off my chest because it was really urking me that something so stupid was said. Hopefully she learns her lesson and donate to a black college. Or maybe she’ll just go home and put on her white hood.

Wipe those tears Hillary. January 19, 2008

Hillary Clinton

Okay so Hillary Clinton was campaigning and when asked a question she broke down into tears. I had a oh no you didn’t moment. I was like how could she do that! People are skeptical enough about a woman president, but for her to cry…oh no. Man up! Wipe those tears and keep it movin’ or hold those tears for when you win…If you win. But i don’t know, Hillary seems to be front running candidate as does Barack. Those 2 are the only ones worth voting for. I think That its is past time for a woman or an African American. No offense but i am tired of seeing the same faces in the white house. Many countries have had a woman leader. Look at  Benazir bhutto, although she was killed she still affected the lives of many men and women. So i think that times are changing for the good. No as for Barack that’s another  story….
